I swear I remember hearing this in Highschool of the Dead ._.

A great 28 Days Later cover by Rockstar Studio.
Funny that both have amount of days and are about zombie apocalypse too.

28 Days Later – evokes emotions, slowly, and gradually unleashing the music, second after second giving another bit to “pull” you into its mood.
7 Days to Die – pace escalates quickly, bringing you its peak fast, and there’s no “more” to wait for, but then you don’t have to wait for the “full hardcore” part for as long as in 28 Days Later.

IMHO this soundtrack fits game menu theme better, you don’t spend as much time in there, so you at least get to enjoy the most important part of the song before you start the game. 28 Days Later’s soundtrack fits movie better, you watch the movie also for its soundtrack, and slow, more “patient” increasement on the pace is better there.

But both songs present the same idea: start slow, quiet, gentle, add more and more, bit by bit, eventually bringing you to an entirely different song in the end, when compared to the begining, or even to the middle of the song.
Both use virtually the same notes, acoustic guitar in the background guiding the piano that adds a bit delicacy, while electric guitar waits until it takes the major role and totally changes the entire mood to rougher and harder.

It’s simple, it’s catchy, it’s brilliant.
We need more of such music in both: movies and games.

I wish there could be an option to turn on the music in game 🙂
